CoreProtect: Anti-Grief Logging and Rollback Guide

CoreProtect: Anti-Grief Logging and Rollback Guide

CoreProtect is an indispensable logging and anti-grief tool for public and community servers. It logs every block break, block placement, chest transaction, fire spread, and animal kill without bogging down your server.

Installation

  1. Download the latest compatible CoreProtect.jar from SpigotMC or [Modrinth].
  2. Upload the .jar to your server's plugins/ folder.
  3. Restart your server. By default, CoreProtect utilizes a local SQLite database that requires zero external SQL setup.

Core Commands & Inspection

1. Inspector Mode (/co i)

Type /co i in-game to toggle the inspection tool.
  • Left-click any block to see who placed it, along with the timestamp.
  • Right-click any block to see what block was broken there previously.
  • Right-click any chest, hopper, or barrel to see full inventory deposit and withdrawal history.
  • Type /co i again to turn inspection mode off.

Rollback and Restore Commands

If a player destroys builds, griefs with lava, or steals from chests, you can undo the damage with a single command.

Example 1: Rollback a Specific Player

Undo all actions by user BadPlayer during the last 24 hours within a 50 block radius:
/co rollback u:BadPlayer t:24h r:50

Example 2: Rollback Fire and Lava Damage

Undo all fire damage across the entire world for the last 2 hours:
/co rollback b:fire t:2h

Example 3: Rollback Chest Thefts

Undo chest transactions (restores items taken):
/co rollback u:BadPlayer t:6h a:container r:20

Example 4: Undo an Accidental Rollback

If you accidentally rolled back too far, undo the rollback command:
/co restore u:BadPlayer t:24h r:50

Key Parameters for /co rollback

  • u:<player> — Specify the player username.
  • t:<time> — Specify the time range (m = minutes, h = hours, d = days, e.g. t:30m, t:2d).
  • r:<radius> — Block radius from your current location (r:30). Use r:#world for whole dimension.
  • a:<action> — Action filter: +block, -block, container, kill.
  • b:<block> — Specific block type (e.g. b:tnt, b:lava, b:fire).
