Joining Your Minecraft Server
Joining Your Minecraft Server
Every server hosted on FreeMcHosting runs on dedicated high-performance hardware. Because multiple servers operate on each machine with dedicated resource isolation, your server is allocated a specific port number in addition to the machine's primary IP address.
Server Nodes and Direct IP Addresses
FreeMcHosting operates two main node clusters:
| Tier / Node | Dedicated IPv4 | Hostname | Connection Syntax |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Community Tier (NL0) | 45.13.237.208 | nl0.freemchosting.com | 45.13.237.208:PORT |
| Donation Tier (UK1) | 57.128.180.78 | uk1.freemchosting.com | 57.128.180.78:PORT |
Note: Replace
PORTwith your assigned server port displayed in your dashboard.
Step-by-Step Connection Instructions
1. Locate Your Assigned Port
Log into the FreeMcHosting dashboard and navigate to your server overview. Under the server address section, look for your address string (for example,nl0.freemchosting.com:25582). The numbers following the colon (:) are your allocated port.
2. Launch Minecraft Java Edition
Make sure your client version matches the Minecraft version installed on your server (for example, 1.20.4 or 1.21).3. Add Server in Multiplayer Menu
- From the Minecraft main menu, select Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server (or select Direct Connection).
- In the Server Address field, enter either:
45.13.237.208:PORT(Direct IPv4)nl0.freemchosting.com:PORT(Node hostname)
- Click Done and select the server to join.
Important Connection Notes
- Port Is Required: Minecraft assumes port
25565by default. If your assigned port is anything other than 25565, you must append:PORTto the address unless you configure an SRV DNS record. - Wait for Startup: Verify that the server console displays
[Server] Done! For help, type "help"before connecting. Initial world generation takes approximately 30 to 60 seconds. - Firewall & Status: If your connection times out, verify that the server status indicator in your panel is online and check status.freemchosting.com for ongoing maintenance.
