Multiverse-Core: Managing Multiple Worlds
Multiverse-Core: Managing Multiple Worlds
Multiverse-Core allows you to run multiple independent Minecraft dimensions (e.g. an SMP survival world, a creative plot world, a flat build world, and a resource gathering world) simultaneously on one server instance.
Installation
- Download
Multiverse-Core.jarfrom SpigotMC or [Hangar]. - Upload the
.jarto yourplugins/directory. - Restart your server.
Creating New Worlds
Run these commands in console or in-game:
1. Create a Standard Normal World
/mv create survival_resource NORMAL
2. Create a Flat World (Great for Creative Building)
/mv create creative_plots NORMAL -t FLAT
3. Create a Nether or End World
/mv create custom_nether NETHER
/mv create custom_the_end THE_END
Teleporting Between Worlds
# Teleport yourself to another world
/mv tp world_name
# Teleport another player
/mv tp PlayerName world_name
# Set the world spawn point
/mv setspawn
Importing Existing Worlds
If you uploaded a custom map folder (e.g. AdventureMap) to your server root directory:
/mv import AdventureMap NORMAL
Managing Memory with Multiple Worlds
On 4GB RAM servers, each loaded world maintains its own spawn chunk memory. To keep performance optimal:
- Open
plugins/Multiverse-Core/worlds.yml. - Locate worlds that players visit infrequently (like a mining world).
- Set:
keepSpawnInMemory: 'false'
- This ensures chunks unload when no players are in that dimension, keeping RAM free for active players.
