Dashboard GUI Mod Installer: Modrinth Browser

For servers running Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge, the FreeMcHosting dashboard includes a dedicated GUI mod browser powered directly by the Modrinth API.

Why Modrinth Only?

Modrinth is currently the fastest, most developer-friendly open platform for Minecraft mods. Its API enforces strict metadata tagging for:

  • Server-side vs. client-side requirements.
  • Exact loader compatibility (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Quilt).
  • Prerequisite library dependencies.

By connecting directly to Modrinth, the dashboard ensures that downloaded .jar files are validated specifically for dedicated server execution.

Installing Mods with One Click

Step 1: Open the Mod Installer

  1. Navigate to your server overview in dash.freemchosting.com.
  2. Under the Management section, select Mods (or Mod Installer).

Step 2: Search and Filter

  1. Enter the name of the desired mod (e.g. FerriteCore, Lithium, Simple Voice Chat, Krypton).
  2. The browser automatically filters results to match your current server Minecraft version and modloader.

Step 3: Install

  1. Click Install.
  2. The dashboard downloads the verified .jar file directly into your /mods/ folder.
  3. If the mod requires dependencies (such as Fabric API), the interface will prompt you to install the companion library with one click.

Step 4: Boot and Verify

Go to the Console and restart your server. The console output will confirm the newly installed mod has loaded successfully.
