Dashboard GUI Plugin Installer: Spigot and Modrinth
Dashboard GUI Plugin Installer: Spigot and Modrinth
Instead of searching external websites, downloading .jar files to your computer, and uploading them via File Manager, the FreeMcHosting dashboard features an integrated GUI plugin installer on your server management page.
Supported Plugin Repositories
The installer connects directly to the two largest Minecraft plugin ecosystems:
- SpigotMC: Thousands of classic and modern Bukkit/Spigot plugins (EssentialsX, LuckPerms, Vault, CoreProtect).
- Modrinth: High-speed modern plugin releases with automated version compatibility checks.
Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Open the Management Page
- Log into your dashboard at dash.freemchosting.com.
- Select your server.
- In the sidebar navigation, click Plugins (or look for the Plugin Installer under Management).
Step 2: Search for Your Plugin
- In the search field, type the name of the plugin (for example,
LuckPerms,WorldEdit, orViaVersion). - You can filter by source repository (Spigot or Modrinth).
- Review the description, author, and latest supported Minecraft version directly in the interface.
Step 3: Click Install
- Click the Install button next to your selected plugin.
- The dashboard backend will fetch the correct
.jarfile directly from the repository API and place it in your/plugins/folder. - A success notification will confirm the download is complete.
Step 4: Restart Your Server
Navigate to the Console tab and restart the server. The plugin will initialize and create its configuration directory automatically.Updating Plugins via GUI
When new plugin versions are released, the Dashboard installer flags outdated plugins with an Update button, allowing you to upgrade safely with one click without overwriting your custom configuration files.
