Managing Subusers and Team Permissions

Managing Subusers and Team Permissions

If you are running a server with friends, co-owners, or moderators, you should never share your primary account password. The FreeMcHosting dashboard includes a full Subuser Management System that allows you to invite other registered users and give them specific permissions.

Available Subuser Permission Toggles

You can configure granular permissions for each team member:

  • Console: View live logs and issue commands.
  • Power Operations: Start, stop, restart, or kill the server process.
  • File Management: Read, create, edit, delete, or upload server files.
  • Backups: Create, download, or restore server backup archives.
  • Databases & Allocations: View network ports and manage databases.
  • Player Manager: Access the GUI player management tool to kick, ban, or whitelist players.

Adding a Subuser Step-by-Step

1. Navigate to Subusers

  1. Open your server in dash.freemchosting.com.
  2. In the sidebar menu, click Users (or Subusers).

2. Click "Create Subuser"

  1. Click the Add User / Create Subuser button.
  2. Enter your friend's registered FreeMcHosting email address.

3. Configure Permission Checkboxes

Select only the permissions you want them to hold:
  • For a Moderator: Grant Console view, Restart, and Player Manager access.
  • For a Builder: Grant File Manager access (for schematics).
  • For a Co-Owner: Grant all permissions except billing.

4. Send Invitation

Click Save User. The server will immediately show up in your friend's dashboard under their own account with only the authorized controls visible.
