WorldEdit & FAWE: Building & Schematics Guide
WorldEdit & FAWE: Building & Schematics Guide
WorldEdit is the primary tool for in-game terraforming, building, and structure manipulation. For high-volume edits on 4GB RAM servers, FAWE (FastAsyncWorldEdit) is strongly recommended to prevent memory freeze crashes.
WorldEdit vs. FAWE
- Standard WorldEdit: Edits blocks synchronously. Performing large edits (e.g.
//set stoneacross 50,000 blocks) can lock the main server thread, causing player timeouts or Out of Memory crashes. - FastAsyncWorldEdit (FAWE): Dispatches block updates asynchronously in the background. It protects server TPS and caps maximum block operations to prevent server crashes.
Basic Selection & Wand
- Run
//wandto receive the wooden axe selection wand. - Left-click a block to define Position 1.
- Right-click a block to define Position 2.
- The cuboid region between those two points is now selected.

Working with Schematics
To import builds downloaded from PlanetMinecraft or build databases:
- Upload your
.schemor.schematicfile toplugins/FastAsyncWorldEdit/schematics/(orplugins/WorldEdit/schematics/). - In-game, load the schematic:
//schem load filename
- Stand at your target location and run:
//paste
